Integrations
Connect UtilConnect to your existing systems
UtilConnect integrates with AMI head-ends, ERP platforms, GIS, CRM, SCADA, payment gateways, field service tools, and BI systems — via REST API, file exchange, webhooks, and a Python-based integration layer.
Four ways to connect
REST API
All core UtilConnect objects — accounts, meters, reads, bills, payments, service orders — are accessible via documented REST APIs. Third-party systems query or push data in real time.
Scheduled File Exchange
For systems without API support, UtilConnect exchanges data via scheduled SFTP or FTPS file transfers in CSV, XML, or JSON formats. File schemas are configurable per integration.
Webhook Events
UtilConnect emits webhook events on key state changes — bill published, payment received, exception raised, service order completed — enabling real-time push to downstream systems.
Python Integration Layer
Complex or bespoke integrations are handled via a Python-based middleware layer that transforms, validates, and routes data between UtilConnect and any external system or data format.

Pre-built and configurable integrations across the utility technology stack. New integrations added on request.
AMI Head-End and Smart Metering
Connect UtilConnect directly to your AMI head-end system to ingest interval reads, meter events, and device status. Integration handles read ingestion, VEE processing, and exception routing automatically.
ERP and Financial Systems
Post billing transactions, payment receipts, adjustments, and revenue journal entries directly to your ERP or accounting platform. Eliminates manual data entry and reconciliation between the billing system and finance.
GIS and Asset Management
Synchronize premise locations, meter installation points, service territories, and network topology with your GIS platform. Enables geographic billing analysis and field crew routing.
CRM and Customer Engagement
Sync customer account data, billing events, service requests, and communication history with your CRM. Gives customer service teams a unified view of billing status without switching systems.
Payment Gateways and Processing
Accept online and in-person payments through your preferred payment processor. Payment confirmations post to account ledgers automatically, and failed payments trigger dunning workflow triggers.
SCADA and Telemetry (District Energy)
Ingest ETS telemetry — supply temperature, return temperature, flow rate, thermal energy — directly from your SCADA or building automation system. Enables TR-h billing without manual data extraction.
Field Service Management
Push service orders from UtilConnect to your field service platform and receive completion status, meter reads, and field notes back automatically — closing the loop between office and field.
Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse
Export billing, consumption, revenue, and collections data to your BI platform or data warehouse. Enables cross-system analytics, regulatory reporting, and executive dashboards beyond what's built into UtilConnect.
Integration questions
What AMI systems does UtilConnect integrate with?
UtilConnect integrates with Itron, Landis+Gyr, Sensus, Aclara, Honeywell Smart Energy, Kamstrup, Badger Meter, Neptune Technology, and Trilliant AMI head-end systems via REST API or scheduled file exchange.
Does UtilConnect integrate with SAP or Oracle?
Yes. UtilConnect integrates with SAP IS-U and S/4HANA Utilities for financial posting, and with Oracle CC&B for data synchronization. Integration is via REST API or configured file exchange depending on the platform version.
How does UtilConnect handle integrations that don't have an API?
For systems without REST API support, UtilConnect uses scheduled SFTP/FTPS file exchange in CSV, XML, or JSON format. A Python-based integration layer handles format transformation, field mapping, and validation for any custom data structure.
Can UtilConnect integrate with our SCADA system for district cooling?
Yes. UtilConnect ingests ETS telemetry from Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, Honeywell, and Emerson SCADA platforms, as well as OSIsoft PI historians and OPC-UA compatible systems — enabling automated TR-h billing from live telemetry data.
How long does a new integration take to implement?
Standard integrations with pre-built connectors (Itron, SAP, Salesforce, Stripe, etc.) are typically implemented within the standard project timeline. Custom integrations using the Python layer depend on complexity and API quality of the target system — typically 2–6 weeks.
